Twelve contiguous cones on masts

The stadium, which is a joint athletics and Rugby union venue, underwent major refurbishment in preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and is currently the training base for the Glasgow Warriors professional rugby team. Tony Hogg Design were approached by Glasgow City's Design and Regeneration Services architects to provide the tender design for the north stand fabric roof.

Raked cantilevering tubular steel booms and spars are supported on masts with headrings that push up the fabric cones. The steelwork design involved integrated lighting conduits, speaker systems and internal drainage. Following the award of the contract, Tony Hogg Design also provided the full scope of engineering and detailing of the steelwork and fabric fittings to our client.
