Refurbishments at Glasgow's city centre shopping mall received a number of treatments involving tensile fabric solutions. A series of silver mesh ribbons give a new accent to the steelwork supporting the glass roof. As the glazing is south facing the architect has broken up the direct sunlight over the Foodcourt with a complex grid of ceiling hung sails with gradation achieved by using three types of fabric. A mixture of mesh fabrics are also used to break up the large expanse of the end wall above the Hamleys store.
