Fabric cladding to spaceframe roof structure

Tony Hogg Design developed a system of tensile PTFE fabric cladding to attach to the Mero Schmidlin space frame structure.  This wide span roof structure covers the railway tracks and station facilities at Adamstown near Dublin.  Following the success of this structure, another identical roof was commissioned at Park West railway station.

We isolated the lightweight steelwork of the space frame from the tensile fabric forces by designing a purlin system to support the membrane and to bridge between the node attachment points on the space frame. The roof structure measures 52 metres by 32 metres. Our details of fittings and drainage and our definitive fabrication and installation information have been used to great effect.
