The multiple runs of PTFE fabric canopy provide an elegant and striking feature to the drop off zone while also affording shelter for passengers. Tony Hogg Design developed the membrane and supporting steelwork in conjunction with the Richard Rogers Partnership, ARUPs and the BAA design team to fulfill the requirements of this landmark building. The pattern of alternating high and low points of the membrane was achieved by varying the size, geometry and orientation of the large plate steel cantilever frames.
